Big Chains dominate the growing Sporting goods market in Poland
2014-11-03 source ownRecently, the Polish Market Research company (PMR) reported that the Polish sporting goods market is expected to increase by 5.2% more than in 2013, in 2012 it increased by 1.5%. 2014 is expected to increase the Polish Market by a sum of around 7.9 Billion zlotys (€1.87 Billion) in the retail sports sector. PMR is expecting business to rise with an increase of 4-5% in the next few years.
Online stores are the quickest increasing distribution channel which has increased by 17%, that is followed by the more popular on-street retailers such as Intersport and French chains Decathlon and Go.
A survey given to Polish customers it showed that they preferred to shop at large-scale stores like Intersport and Decathlon, followed by the smaller independent.
