Czechs seventh in Europe when it comes to wearable payments

According to a survey by MasterCard, Czech Republic stands on the seventh position in Europe in terms of wearable transactions, including contactless payment bracelets, watches, and rings.

On the top is the Netherlands, which has over 33% of all population wears transaction bracelets in all of Europe, closely followed by the United Kingdom and then comes 8% of Switzerland population.

Transactions processed with wearable transactions were marked up by eight times over the last 12 months. 

The survey by MasterCard revealed that they will see a rise in wearable payment technology in the Czech Republic.
Currently, almost 12% of Citizens of the Czech Republic is in the possession of wearable payment methods, which is double the amount that was recorded in 2012. Czechs saw a rise of 3 percent in 2016, now accumulating to 10 percent.

Globally, one in five people has a smartwatch for payment transactions and this number is said to increase to a total of almost 30 billion.
