A good day for HEAD

Three of HEAD’s biggest names (Cilic, Berdych and Kuznetsova) have won titles at ATP and WTA indoor events with Berdych winning in Stockholm and Cilic and Kuznetsova triumphant in Moscow.
Three of HEAD’s biggest names (Cilic, Berdych and Kuznetsova) have won titles at ATP and WTA indoor events with Berdych winning in Stockholm and Cilic and Kuznetsova triumphant in Moscow.

Firstly, Cilic made it two wins in as many years in Moscow, Russia by beating Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets 6-4 6-4 in a repeat of the final from the previous year. Cilic, who has now won 14 titles in a career spanning 10 years, said “The tournament is becoming more and more special for me. Coming back for a second year in a row and to win it again, it gives me huge, huge satisfaction and pleasure.

HEAD’s good run then continued as Berdych managed to claim victory in Sweden over Jack Sock, 7-6 6-2. This year’s Stockholm Open proved to be a good one for HEAD as another of its players, Richard Gasquet, reached the semi-final but was knocked out by the eventual runner-up.

Kuznetsova managed to top off the good news as she romped to victory in Moscow, beating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2 6-1. The Russian star broke her opponents serve 4 times, served five aces and didn’t face a single break point as she tied up her 15th career title in just 69 minutes. After the game she said “It was the last tournament of the year and I’m happy to finish like this with a big win. It wasn’t easy for me to play here in Moscow because I wanted to win this title so much.”

There was also good news for Maria Sharapova, who endorses the HEAD Graphene XT Instinct, as she played her first match for 3 months returning from injury to beat Agnieszka Radwanska 4-6 6-3 6-4 in Singapore.

HEAD is proud to announce that their partnership with Maria Sharapova will continue until at least 2016.

The current No. 5 in the WTA singles world ranking is a four-time Grand Slam Winner and one of only six women in the Open Era to complete the career Grand Slam in singles. She is the winner of 29 singles titles so far and has spent a total of 21 weeks as the world’s best-ranked women’s player.
