Czech shopping trends changing

2016-04-26 source own

We are used to different trends appearing in the many markets but now it seems to be the actual method of purchase that is rapidly changing. Sales on mobile, in particular, are beginning to take over and are expected to nearly reach 100 billion CZK in 2016. In the first three months of 2016 alone, purchases made on mobile phones increased by nearly 20%; surprisingly, this is slower than the rise towards the end of 2015.

Revenues from purchases made on mobile devices hit 81 billion CZK in 2015 and the increase, though slowing slightly, is set to take the end of year figure to 96 billion CZK. Jan Penkala, CEO of Acomware market analysts, has said “People are showing increased interest in this form of shopping while retail in general is also growing. Also, many traditional retailers are now starting to take an interest in this form of shopping and are allowing their customers to order online. So this is a trend that will continue for several years. In my view, internet scales can still grow by a further 15-25%.”

Desktop computers and laptops are still the most popular method of online shopping in Czech Republic though this is slowly changing and mobile devices and tablets are quickly catching.
