Good news for industrial and logistics sector in Poland
2016-05-16 source ownIt is thought that nearly 1 million square meters of new space for the industrial and logistics sector were introduced in 2015 which took the total to over 2.5 million square meters. In turn, this took the vacancy rate to 5% which is the lowest it has ever been. This was good news all round for the sector that enjoyed phenomenal growth at nearly every opportunity.
A representative of the market has said “The results for 2015 have confirmed the exceedingly good condition of the Polish industrial and logistics market where approximately 2.62 million square metres were leased. This is the best result that this sector has ever achieved. Demand was at a stable level throughout the year where new leases and existent tenant expansions represented 70% of all deals.”
“The most active clients came from within the logistics and courier sectors,” they continued. “The fact that currently there are approximately 900,000 square metres of space under construction, out of which 40% is speculative investment, is a testimony to the strong interest in the industrial and logistics market on the part of investors and developers. We are expecting that in 2016, demand for industrial and logistics space will continue its 2015 trend. The still growing e-commerce and supply chain management industries will play a significant role within the sector.”
