New app provides real-time information about ski slopes in Romania
2018-03-05 source ownRomania is a south-eastern European country that is well known for its several ski slopes. Interestingly, a team of Romanian IT specialists has just launched a mobile app that enables users to post or find out real-time information about the Romanian ski slopes.
This newly launched App is called Onpiste, and it includes an interactive map and an alphabetical list of almost all the 50 ski areas and slopes in Romania. It also provides for the number of slopes, as well as their length and difficulty. So via this App, users can find out or share information about the condition of ski slopes, the quality of snow, the waiting time at cable transport facilities and the weather situation. And according to Sergiu Suteu, the project manager, “It’s like the Waze app drivers use, but it’s used by the ski community,”
The app has been made available for both iOS and Android operating systems. The IT specialists also plan to improve the App to further extend to other ski slopes in Europe, especially those frequently visited by Romanian skiers.
