Russian Football enters deal with MegaFon

2016-04-07 source own
The Russian Football Union has announced a deal for MegaFon, mobile giant, to become a sponsor for the next three years until 2018. This agreement shows that MegaFon’s plan to become more involved in sports is right at the fore of proceedings even after several years.

‘General Sponsor’ means that the mobile operator will have a heavy hand in financing the development of the sport in Russia as well as the promotion of football to the whole country. Many projects that involve MegaFon have already been announced that will allow everyone to feel connected to the sport and in particular, to games even if they cannot make it to the stadium.

Russian Sports Minister and President of the Russian Football Union, Vitaly Mutko, has said “Partnership with MegaFon allows us to bring socially important projects to life. For ten years already we have been successfully running ‘The Future Depends On You’ football competition for teams from children’s homes across the whole of Russia. We are very pleased to continue and expand our partnership. Our plans include tackling even bigger tasks when it comes to boosting interest in football. Thanks to MegaFon’s support we can continue our efforts to make this sport more popular.”

CEO of MegaFon, Ivan Tavrin, said “I believe that developing sport in Russia is one of the priorities not only on the governmental level but also for a socially responsible business. For Alisher Usmanov and MegaFon, work in this area is one of the main priorities. Thanks to the technologies we have at our disposal as a leading telecommunications operator, we can ensure access to football training sessions and sports competitions for all Russians, regardless of which region or city they are in.”

‘Mobile Trainer’ is just one of the newest projects from the partnership and will allow the user to train whenever, wherever. Training methods will be freely available on this app that uses MegaFon’s quick internet to benefit the user whether they are on a sports field, in the gym, or anywhere else.
