Deichmann Expands into Central Europe

Deichmann, the German footwear retailer, which is the largest in Europe, with corporate headquarters in Essen-Borbeck, has opened up a new shop in STOP.SHOP retail park in Cacak, Serbia.
STOP.SHOP. is a brand name of the Immofinanz Group for retail parks in the Central European region. The brand new Deichmann shop is situated on a 494 square meter plot. It provides footwear and accessories for men, women, and children; and is also one of the leading retailers of lower to mid-range sports footwear in Central Europe.
At the moment, Deichmann has sixteen shops in the larger Serbian cities. The locations include the Forum Shopping Center in Nis, Aviv Park Pancevo, Capitol Park Sabac, Vivo Shopping Park in Jagodina, and Usce Shopping Center in Belgrade. In 2014, Deichmann’s revenues grew by 22.4% compared to 2013. The retailer sold 700,000 pairs of shoes in 2014.
The retail store concept STOP.SHOP was introduced in 2006. STOP.SHOP retail parks are located in other Central European and Central Eastern European countries such as Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia.
Deichmann Group is amongst the leading European footwear retailers. The Deichmann retail network includes over 3.600 stores in 24 nations. In 2014, the group sold approximately 172 million pairs of footwear, an increase of 3% compared to 2013.
Within the Southern East Europe region, Deichmann is also found in Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia. In 2015, the footwear retailer plans to open 180 new stores worldwide.
