Tesco launches Sporting goods concessions in Hungary

The retail giant has launched Peacocks and Sports Direct concessions in two stores in Hungary.
The Váci út store near Budapest features concessions from Peacocks, Sports Direct and German young fashion retailer Street One, while the Székesfehérvár Tesco features a concession from Peacocks.
A spokesman for Tesco said: “As a result of partnerships with Sports Direct and Peacocks we have created shops-within-shops in two Tesco Hungary stores. It is the first time we have put shop-in-shops on the shop floor in a Tesco store.”
Philip Day, chief executive of Peacocks owner Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group, told trade publication Retail Week that the company would look for further sites in Hungary and also in Germany, either through standalone stores or as Tesco concessions.
