Men’s Handball EHF Euro 2016 to be sponsored by MoneyGram

In a deal brokered by Infront Sports and Media, EHF’s media and marketing partner for the 2016 men’s handball tournament, it has been decided that MoneyGram, the money transfer and payment service, will sponsor the event in Poland. The package signed includes; ‘strong brand positioning in camera view around the court’ throughout the tournament. LED boards, floor stickers and static boards behind the goal will all bear the name of the company as they will also look to take advantage of ‘full activation rights’ as well as hospitality contingent and tickets.
MoneyGram’s Chief Marketing Officer, Juan Agualimpia, has said “At MoneyGram, we have a firm belief that all sports have the ability to bring friends and loved ones closer, much like our affordable and timely money transfers, and the 2016 European Handball Championship is no exception. We are elated to sponsor this exceptional competition, which brings our customers closer to the thrilling play-by-play, positive energy and all-around fun associated with an action-packed game.
Jean Brihault, EHF’s President, said “It is a great pleasure to welcome a new brand to handball and to the men’s EHF Euro 2016. For official sponsors, such as MoneyGram, the event will offer an exceptional opportunity to reach fans of the sport across Europe and worldwide, as Poland plays host to the biggest and highest profile European Championship to date.”
Some other official sponsors have already been named for the tournament, which will see 16 national teams battle it out in 48 matches around Poland, including Intersport, VELUX Group, BAUHAUS, engelbert strauss, Grundfos and AJ.
