Adidas announce new green trainers

2016-01-11 source own

Adidas have clearly shown their intentions when it comes to working for a greener planet with the announcement of their new ‘3D printed trainers’ as elsewhere, world leaders met in Paris hoping to strike a deal to help to solve world climate problems.

This new trainer is part of an ongoing partnership between Adidas and Parley for the Oceans, a relatively new initiative that looks for ways to use ocean waste efficiently as well as raise awareness for the ongoing problem, and will see the new design made from ocean plastic pollution. The ‘Ocean Plastic shoe’ will be made solely from ocean waste and use a midsole that is printed via a 3D printer using recycled polyester and gill net content.

Adidas Group Executive Board member responsible for global brands has said “World leaders’ forging an agreement is wonderful but we shouldn’t need to be told to do the right thing. The industry can’t afford to wait for directions any longer”.
