In a deal that has been brewing for a number of months, Zhejiang Haers Vacuum Containers Co., Ltd, based in China, have bought Sigg for around €15 million. This isn’t the first time that Sigg, based in Frauenfeld, have been subject to a takeover after originally being bought by The Riverside Company in 2003.

Haers is widely seen as the world’s largest producer of stainless steel bottles and vacuum food containers and are looking to boost Sigg’s profile on a global scale after finally confirming the deal.
