Premier League rights in Slovakia and Czech Republic with AMI
2016-03-03 source ownThe battle for the Barclays Premier League rights has ended in both Slovakia and the Czech Republic as AMI has come out on top and will broadcast the league exclusively. AMI, based in the UK, is an independent sports rights distributor and first got involved with the Premier League in 1992. Already having a solid position in the TV rights market in the CEE and Central Asian Republics, AMI will also broadcast English football in these two new countries.
However, it isn’t just the Premier League that belongs to AMI, the FA Cup, England’s internationals and NHL are also part of AMI’s portfolio in these areas. AMI also holds Formula One, the NBA as well as a number of other important sports events in Eastern Europe. Owner of AMI, Robert Pickles, is said to be delighted with the decision to keep the Premier League with AMI who have handled these rights in recent years.
