Adidas try new marketing strategy

2016-08-22 source own
Since securing their first marketing deal, Adidas has gone on to sponsor some of the biggest athletes and sports stars on the planet. However, they are attempting to diversify a little by providing waiters and other catering workers in Zurich with sneakers.

In a move that has surprised many, Adidas are giving employees of selected bars a free pair of Adidas sneakers in attempts to draw attention to the brand. After researching the market, the sports manufacturer believes that it can reach the urban community in a fun, light-hearted way.

Guido Mazzolani, Adidas Switzerland spokesperson, has said “Partnerships with individual bars in the city of Zürich offer mutual enrichment; mostly we offer the products at discounted prices, but sometimes they are fully sponsored.” Of course, this is very much still in the ‘testing’ phase and only a select few are a part of the program but if successful, we could see this spread further in Zurich and the whole of Switzerland.
