WING Zrt and Budapest Airport joint venture

2016-09-28 source own
Due for completion in around 18 months, the foundation for the first ever direct airport terminal access hotel in Hungary was laid this week. Based in Ferenc Liszt International Airport, the Ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel will boast 145 rooms as well as facilities for conferences.

As a joint venture between WINGS Zrt and Budapest Airport, the new hotel will be placed by the car park near Terminal 2 and the plans have been in place for several months. Over the last few days, work has begun with Market Epito being the main contractor. A covered walkway will be used to connect the hotel to Terminal 2 and passengers will be able to walk in between the two, whichever way they need. Once the development has been completed, it will be handed over to the Ibis Styles chain who are a member of the Accor Group.

As mentioned, the hotel will boast 145 rooms over five different levels as well as an atrium all covering 5,200 square meters. Additionally, the design is very much similar to the airport in order to bring continuity between the two. Up to 350 square meters will be used for conference space and although it can hold around 120 people, it can also be split into two separate rooms. For business travellers, small meeting rooms will also be available.

For general customers, the hotel will hold a 100 capacity restaurant and even a lobby bar. Not only will the restaurant and bar cope with the demand of hotel guests, they will also allow external visitors or transfer passengers from the airport.
