Intersport Deutschland Enters into Sourcing Partnership with Signa Sports

2018-03-05 source own
Intersport Deutschland, the German subsidiary of Intersport International Corporation GmbH (IIC), is one of the largest medium-sized groups in the worldwide sports retail trade. On the other hand, SIGNA Sports Group is a company that currently ranks among the top 5 in the multi-channel sports sector in Europe and majority shareholder of many bicycle and outdoor webshops. It has just been announced that these two leading companies have just signed a purchasing partnership deal. These two giant sporting goods retailers announced that in future, they will now concentrate their major interests in Germany and other international procurement markets where they will operate under the common umbrella of the Intersport Group.

Based on this partnership, Intersport Deutschland eG will strengthen it's number one position on the German sporting goods market. And for Signa Sports Group, it will offer multiple opportunities for the implementation of its multichannel strategy in Europe especially with its strong webshop involvement as bicycle retailers in Germany as well as France.

International market

This recently announced partnership will bring advantages to Intersport Deutschland in the international market especially as the German and Austrian sporting goods retailer groups have been unified since 2013. Also, being that Intersport Austria has maintained a license with retailers in Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia, and being a shareholder in Intersport Polska S.A, this partnership will help to unite sporting goods retailers across six European countries.
