Amazon increases its business investments in Romania by 45%

The Amazon Development Centre in Romania, the local subsidiary of US online retailer Amazon reported a turnover of RON 155.6 million (EUR 34 million) last year. This report indicated an appreciation of 45% when compared to the record for 2016, according to the data obtained from the Trade Registry Office, cited by the local Ziarul Financiar.
The company’s net profits have also risen by almost 90% to RON 9.2 million (EUR 2 million), while the employees in this industry have risen to about 850.
Amazon owns a research and development centre in Lasi, the eastern part of Romania, and recently the company leased office space to accommodate over 1,300 people in Bucharest, at the Globalworth Campus.
