Sport 2000 International reveals further expansion plans

After the withdrawal of its licencing partner SDI, Sport 2000 has continued to grow its retail business with strategic plans unveiled for the future. The CEO Margit Gosau has hinted plans to launch a new developmental phase that will help improve the business.Notably the biggest sports retail network in Europe, Sports 2000 International has disclosed its financial figures for the year 2017. This was done at the company’s annual meeting, where it was reported that the revenue generated from over 4154 stores was estimated at 3.82 billion Euros. It is an increase when compared to the revenue for the past year which was disclosed as 3.6 billion Euros. However, the exit of the British sports retailer Sports Direct the former licencing partner has been regarded in the disclosure of these earnings. In 2016, while SDI was still in partnership, Sports 200 reported 6.9 billion Euros as its revenue for 2016.The new phase of expansion is said to include the four new partners who have signed agreements with Sports 2000; they have been strategically positioned in new markets such as Spain, Belgium, Hungary, and in the Middle East.
In the next phase of its expansion, the CEO of Sports 2000 International Margit Gosau has affirmed the company’s commitment to improving its formidable retail service to meet the needs of consumers in the sports retail sector. In her statement, Gosau said, “We are now entering the next phase of our 2021 strategy for the future. The goal is to make Sports 2000 and integrated, and vertically oriented sports retail service with a strong focus on making decisions that will make the consumer brand known all over Europe for many years.”
