Wildberries Does well in the Polish Market During Quarantine

2020-07-03 source own
Wildberries, a Russian-based online retailer, has only been active in Poland since the be-ginning of 2020. Recently, however, the company released some staggering initial sales numbers.

In six months, the company has opened 26 “pick-up points” around the country, each equipped with fitting rooms. Seven of these are in Warsaw, while others can be found spread all over the country, in cities large and small.
During this time, the company's courier delivery segment has expanded to cover the en-tire country more effectively. In total, Wildberries has sold some 15,500 items, including beauty products, toys, clothing, and accessories. In April, sales were up some 260% over March, with footwear, toys, and underwear all leading the charge.

According to company spokesmen, lockdown measures due to COVID-19 have drastically increased demand for casual wear. The most popular items sold during the self-isolation period were flip-flips, t-shirts, sports clothes, and pajamas. This month, with the lock-down beginning to be relaxed, Wildberries saw higher sales in categories like sports shoes, dresses, jackets, and shirts, implying that Poles are again ready to go outside and go back to work.
Recently, Wildberries launched new operations in Slovakia as well.
