Decathlon building its largest store in Russia in Sochi

Decathlon is constructing its largest retail outlet in Russia in the southern city of Sochi which was the host city of the Winter Olympics in 2014 which is one of the main reasons for the company to build its largest store in Russia in this city. The new store will be 5,000 square meters and will cost €8.9m euros to development will be finished in 2022.

The Store will have testing facilities to test sporting goods and equipment for sports such as tennis, basketball, cycling etc.  Decathlon is looking to increase sourcing of sporting goods locally produced, currently 25% of products sold in Russia are manufactured in the country previously the company stated they want to increase this to at least 50%.
