Poland has emerged as the fifth-leading manufacturer of bicycles within the European Union, trailing Portugal, Romania, Italy, and Germany, reveals a recent study.

The newly released data by Eurostat, disclosed by Polish state news agency PAP, informs that the European bloc saw the production of approximately 14.7 million bicycles in 2022.

This statistic marks a noteworthy 10% augmentation in bicycle manufacture compared to 2021 and displays a robust 29% growth over the decade spanning from 2012 to 2022, as indicated by Eurostat.

Last year, Poland contributed to this surge by crafting one million bicycles, thus securing the fifth position in the EU’s production ranking, as reported by PAP.

Among the prominent bicycle manufacturers in Poland, Kross holds a substantial market share of 25%. Another significant contributor is Dadelo, a company recognized on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, states the DNA Rynków website.

In the 2022 EU production ranking, Portugal led the way by producing 2.7 million bicycles, with Romania (2.6 million), Italy (2.5 million), and Germany (1.7 million) following closely behind, according to Eurostat’s figures.
