€33 million in online accounts for Poland

According to a recent report from the Polish Bank Association (ZBP), there is currently more than €33 million in online bank accounts belonging to Poles. Within this, around 50% of them are active - ‘active’ means at least one transfer per month. Deputy Chairman of ZBP, Mieczyslaw Groszek, said that this figure was up by 9% compared to last year and up by 5% compared to the second quarter of 2016.

When it comes to corporate accounts, there are currently just short of two and a half million and most of these belong to SMEs. In terms of activity, around 65% saw at least one transfer per month. Nowadays, there are also 36 million payments cards which is an increase of over half a million compared to last quarter.
