Barton Marine Expands into Hungary with Amarcord Marine Ltd as Strategic Distribution Partner in the CEE Market

Barton Marine has strengthened its presence in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) by appointing Amarcord Marine Ltd as its official distributor in Hungary. This strategic partnership supports Barton’s broader business partner search in Central Europe, aligning with its mission to make high-quality marine equipment more accessible across key CEE markets.

Amarcord Marine Ltd is the sister company of Galco Yachting Ropes, a family-owned manufacturer with six generations of experience in producing high-performance ropes, two of which have been focused exclusively on the needs of sailors. The collaboration brings together two companies with shared values, heritage, and a strong focus on customer service, fast delivery, and technical expertise.

The partnership will provide Hungarian sailors and industrial customers with a comprehensive marine equipment offering, combining Galco’s trusted rope solutions with Barton’s renowned range of deck hardware. Products will be available through Galco’s physical outlets, a newly enhanced e-commerce platform, and at 12 regional trade shows, including the recently held event in Palić, Serbia.

Hungary’s sailing scene continues to thrive, centred around Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe. The country has a vibrant regatta calendar, including the historic Kékszalag (Blue Ribbon Regatta), Europe’s oldest round-the-lake race. With ongoing government investment in youth training and sailing development, Hungary presents a dynamic and growing market for premium marine products.
