Leading UK outdoor apparel and sportswear company, Mountain Warehouse, plans to expand the number of stores it currently has in the CE region. The retailer has 7 stores in Central Europe, 6 in Poland, and 1 in Austria but this number is expected to increase in the near future. The Central Europe sporting goods market has a lot of potential for growth, with rising incomes as well as a market, which has had positive growth for outdoor sporting activities.

In a report in 2013, the Chief executive Mark Neale, who currently owns 85% of the business, stated that the 169 store retailer, that has 6 retail outlets in Poland, can be “huge” overseas.

Neale, who is eyeing three hundred stores across Europe, believed he could open 50 stores in Poland, and is also eyeing the possibility of launching in Denmark, Holland, and Germany.

Mountain Warehouse is hoping to grow based on recent strong growth, especially in its cycling and running divisions.
