Sigvaris has agreed a deal to purchase Anna Sobkowiak’s shares in Polish company Pani Teresa Medica (PTM) for just over €6 million. Anna Sobkowiak, the CEO and majority shareholder, has decided to sell her 81.39% (which carries 85.43% of voting rights) share of the medical textile product company to Sigvaris Holding AG, a Swiss manufacturer of medical compression stockings. According to the terms of the deal, the sale will be part of a public bid by Sigvaris Holding AG for 100% of the shares in PTM.

Sigvaris, founded in 1864, is believed to be the global market leader in the medical stockings market and in 2009, expanded as they launched the ‘well-being’ stocking as well as the ‘sport’ stocking. According to data from 2014, Sigvaris had revenues of over €220m. The company has production plants all around the world and employs over 1,400 people.
