Marriott's Autograph Collection Debuts in Hungary with the Historic Dorothea Hotel in Budapest

Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection Hotels is expanding its global presence with the opening of the Dorothea Hotel in Budapest, marking the brand's first venture into Hungary. The hotel, named in honor of Archduchess Dorothea for her significant contributions to Budapest in the 19th century, is situated within three historically significant buildings.

Each building comprising the Dorothea Hotel has its unique architectural story. The Weber, constructed in 1873, showcases neo-Renaissance style and was formerly the United Budapest Metropolitan Savings Bank. The Art Nouveau Mahart dates back to 1913, while the Munnich, built in 1937, features modernist architecture with art deco influences.

Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni is responsible for the hotel's contemporary interior design, which includes portraits by renowned Hungarian art and fashion photographer Zoltán Tombor.

The Dorothea Hotel offers 216 rooms categorized into contemporary and historic styles, each equipped with modern facilities. The highlight is the Presidential Suite, boasting a bedroom with a dressing room, bathroom with sauna, living room, dining room with kitchen, and access to a terrace offering panoramic city views.

At the heart of the hotel is the inner courtyard, home to the Pavilion Restaurant & Bar. Anton's Bar & Deli, located upstairs, serves coffee and snacks by day and transforms into a bar by night. The hotel plans to expand its dining options with two additional restaurants.
