New Eurobike layout a success

Eurobike’s famous show has made some changes to the layout this year and it has been said to have gone down extremely well with many in the industry. The show will involve three business days then followed by two festival days and Messe Friedrichshafen, show organiser, has said that around 80% and possibly more of the exhibitors have committed to appearing at all five days.

Friedrichshafen stated “By mid-January, the closing date for registration, about 1,350 exhibitors from more than 50 countries have signed up for their participation in the 25th Eurobike edition.” For the first time in the event’s history, exhibitors had to make a decision as to whether they would just attend the first three business days or whether they wanted to be there for the whole five, which included the two days set out for the consumers.

Stefan Reisinger, Division Manager, said “About 85% of the exhibitors chose to stay for the entire event, while 15% decided to concentrate their efforts on the three business days. We regard this as a big encouragement for the new strategy of Eurobike. During the business days, Wednesday 31st August to Friday 2nd September, bicycle manufacturers and retailers will set the course of the industry for 2017.”

The Zeppelin Hall and Hall A1 will be set aside for those who are attending the business days only. The event will also play host to a new ‘Demo Area’ that will feature test tracks and will be located between the two B halls.

Reisinger went on to state “Other than those two halls (occupied by the business days attendees), the entire fairground will be open during the weekend for the festival days. This part of the show will focus on bike enthusiasts and consumers, who will get their money’s worth of technology, try-outs, entertainment, competitions, information, and music. We want to make the Eurobike festival days the most important bike consumer event in Europe and offer our industry partners a unique branding opportunity.”

In a year full of changes, the opening hours also haven’t escaped. The event will run between 09:00 and 18:00 in the first four days and will finish an hour earlier at 17:00 on the Sunday. Only trade visitors and journalists will be allowed entry during the business days.
