New kit supplier for Schalke 04

2016-04-13 source own

Schalke have reportedly begun their search for a new ‘outfitter’ after Adidas has so far rejected the notion that the deal will run beyond the current end date of 2018. The prestigious German club, nicknamed ‘The Miners’, has already taken action and are in talks for a brand new partnership with ‘two US outfitters’ but it remains to be seen who will sign the contract. According to ‘sponsors’, an industry magazine, Schalke are discussing deals with New Balance and Under Armour; both of which have spoken openly about joining the Bundesliga and both of which this deal could be seen as a massive coup for the respective companies.

The pulling of Adidas is thought to be a continuation of a plan to only sponsor a few top clubs around Europe after already dropping FC Nuremberg and Bayer Leverkusen. They currently supply the kits for many top clubs including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United as well as the German National Team.
