Sand Valley Golf Resort stands as Poland's premier golf development of the new millennium, acclaimed by Golf World as the country's finest and ranked among the Top 100 in Continental Europe. The genesis of Sand Valley Golf Resort traces back to the early 2000s, marking the arrival of Timo Hulkkonen in Poland with a mission to market the heating systems produced by his company, LPM. His first alliance in Poland was with Alexander Wellenger, then the CEO of Opec Gdynia. The concept of a golf course originated in the late 1990s with Kai Hulkkonen, Timo's eldest son. For Timo, this golf venture symbolized an opportunity to reciprocate the generosity he had received from Poland. To this day, Timo and his family retain primary ownership of Sand Valley.
The Wellenger family came on board as minority stakeholders, providing invaluable local insight and support for the ambitious venture. It was Dariusz Wellenger, Alexander's son, who identified the ideal location in Paslek for the golf course. Kai, alongside a creative team, coined the name Sand Valley, and after extensive planning, construction commenced in 2006. Despite facing numerous challenges, the golf course began to take shape, culminating in its completion in 2009.
This narrative not only highlights Sand Valley Golf Resort's journey from concept to reality but also showcases the collaboration and determination behind creating Poland's top golfing destination.
