Poland: 2014 best year ever for Polish road cycling

2014 has been Poland’s greatest year for road cycling with Michal Kwiatkowski claiming the road world championship jersey for Poland on September 28th at Ponferrada Spain.

After today’s victory the Polish world champion stated "I am really thankful for my mates for what they did at the
Team Poland rode at the front of the peloton for over 100km to bring back a 4 man breakaway to sacrifice themselves for the good of their team leader and eventual winner Michal Kwiatkowski.

Even before today’s result 2014 was Poland road cycling best year with Polish rider Rafal Majka claiming the Pokka dot jersey for king of the mountain at this year’s tour de France as well as 2 stage wins for the Polish cyclists.  Rafal Majka claiming victory in his home tour at this 71st edition of the tour of Poland, Michal Kwiatkowski also took second at this year’s tour of Britain.
 
After Poland’s successes this year it’s expect to increase the popularity of road cycling in Poland and therefore opportunities and increased demand for road bikes, equipment, clothing and accessories.
