The largest bike factory in Europe is being built in Romania

Europe’s largest bike factory is under construction in Timisoara Romania, its expected to be finished in September 2021. The bike factory is being built by Sport Mechanical Workshop who is a partner of Decathlon.

The expect bike output is 1.5 million units which includes both traditional bikes and e-bikes. At the start in 2016, Sport Mechanical Workshop assembled 300 bicycles a day, while the average daily output is now 3,500 units. Founded in 2016, the company called Sport Mechanical Workshop is owned by the Italian investors Francesco Russo and Vittorio Olagnero, as well as their Romanian partner Laszlo Nyaradi.
