With around three hundred attendees, the US leading sports brand, Under Armour, just celebrated the launching of its brand new modern corporate and business head office in Munich / Thalkirchen. Amongst those present was founder and CEO, Kevin Plank.
With the office in Thalkirchen, the sports brand, established in 1996, intends to increase its presence in Central European markets such as Germany, Austria, Poland, and Czech. Located in a former Rangierbahnhofsareal im Isarwinkel in Munich, the marketing and sales teams for Germany and Austria Under Armour are located in a two storey building.
The office building is built in line with the design of the company’s corporate headquarters in Baltimore / Maryland in the so-called brick wall style. In the basement, there is a display area for the current collection, upstairs is the workspace, as well as a small gym. There is an additional workout area outdoors for more exercise options.
At a media conference, Founder and CEO, Kevin Plank, outlined the brand’s current performance figures and the overall growth of Under Armour. According to the company, the brand increased revenue in 2014 by 32 %, and therefore accomplished a total sales of more than 3 billion US dollars. Since September 2014, Under Armour has operated an online store focused on the steadily growing German market for its Sportswear.
