Montenegro:Budva waterpark opens

2016-07-20 source own

A brand new waterpark based on the Toplis Hills in Budva, Montenegro has now been opened making it one of the largest of its kind on the Adriatic coast. With over 40,000 square metres of space, the €13 million development is thought to have the ability to hold 6,000 people per day.

Aquaterra Solutions is responsible for the destination which boasts over 50 different attractions including the main pools and waterslides as well as a restaurant, retail outlets, a photo booth, a cafe, and three bars. The opening will come as a relief to many who have contributed to a planning period of around ten years when the deal was first signed between the location and Numerico Trade, based in Cyprus. The project has changed hands not once but twice since then with Mirax from Russia also failing before Aquaterra managed to take on the plans in 2014 and have now brought them to fruition.

A 220ft by 85ft slide by the name of Big Kamikaze is likely to be the main attraction for most visitors with a smaller option (205ft by 57ft) open to the younger audience. Also available is a 400ft toboggan slide and a 200ft drop on an inflatable raft on the appropriately named Hidrotube Slide.
